Gnarley No, this is not a study break itself. For that, I would have had to start studying today... which I havent. But anyway, yesterday I took a study break. For about 3 hours. And it wasnt even Halo 2 this time. Instead, I went to base in my board shorts to meet my classmates, also in board shorts, at a beach ON THE BASE, where apparently there is some of the best local surfing. It was there that I proceeded to catch my first wave. And then my second, and then my third, which I stood up on (to detract from the feat, i was definitely using a serious longboard here). However, the score was me catching numerous waves with the longboard, with probably a half dozen stand ups; catching several with the 7'6" board and getting 1 or 2 stands (I didnt spend much time on it, but the time I did was well spent); and then catching 2 with the short board. Standing up on the short board may take a little while. Just a little.
Oh, and thats probably one of the best study breaks I've ever taken. Yeah. Stand by for more surfing escapades. I have to get ready for Hawaii!

So yeah, Mayport
Yeah man, thought you knew. "The Poles" in Mayport is one of the best breaks on the Eastern Seaboard. In fact, you can even drive on the state park south of the base for free if you show the lady your military ID (beats parking at the Q and walking......although the Q has outdoor showers and a hose). Do be advised, however, that the very spot you surfed was where I (a) saw a shark get ripped to shreds by dolphins and (b) spent 45 minutes paddling out through Hurricane Isabelle swell and damn near shit myself as I went careening down an 11 foot wave.Good times. If I wasn't making money by making shit that kills people, I'd be jealous. I'll let you know when I'm coming down.
